APRIL 22, 2008: MET COMEBACK KID LAST NIGHT

It's 3am now and I just got home from hanging out with Comeback Kid. They are SUCH nice guys man!!! Crazy how nice and humble they are...and they don't have a manager or roadie with them, so they're doing everything themselves which I have lots of respect for! They have brought lots of t-shirts!!! So bring $100HKD to the show on Sunday to buy them! I think they look AWESOME!!! :-) One white design and one black design...you can see photos of the shirts on our Facebook site:

現在是三點鐘am...非常累...可是很開心因為我可以陪Comeback Kid幾個鐘頭接他們, 和跟他們一起吃飯...還有可以跟他們說很多關於hardcore的笑話...hahahahaha...他們真的是非常好人...沒有什麼rockstar感覺...見了他們之後更加想看他們表演!!! SHIT!!! 非常期待星期天!!!

APRIL 21, 2008: JUST A FEW DAYS LEFT

FINALLY!!! 終於到最後幾天!!! 這個週末是非常興奮的一個週末!!! 非常期待再去菲律賓!!! 然後星期天可以看Comeback Kid得表演!!! HOLY SHIT!!!

我今天晚上會去機場接他們因為他們會住在香港一個晚上然後星期二會去印尼. 然後星期天再回來香港在這裡演出...

Last few days before one of the greatest weekends of our lives!!! SUMMER SLAM and then COMEBACK KID!!! OH MY GOD!!!...I'll be picking these guys up today from the airport because they're staying in HK for one night on their way to Indonesia for their first show in Asia outside of Japan! It's going to be great to finally meet them in person! :-)

OK - going to sleep. I have no respect for CNN - they have completely lost all credibility. If they hire reporters who will generalize and make ridiculous comments about countries, it's products and it's people? Then they are a news reporting company that doesn't deserve my support or attention. You are a total disgrace to the noble profession of news reporting, and shame on your for not standing up and apologizing whole heartedly. 現在需要睡覺...這幾天一定非常忙...我只想說 - 我對CNN沒有什麼尊重感. CNN證明不是一個專業的新聞公司. 我以後不會看這個電視台. 你們這個行為給了這行帶來恥辱. 我不是一個喜歡跟大多數人想什麼我也這樣想. i don't know how to say this - i'm not someone who blindly follows what everyone thinks. 我知道全地球的華人非常恨CNN...可是我只想說CNN真的錯了. 他們還沒有誠意的抱歉, 這樣他們更加錯了.

APRIL 19, 2008: GOOD NIGHT HAD A BAD ENDING

Last night I went out to celebrate my good friend Terence's recent luck with getting a brand new job! It was a great night doing the same stupid stuff that we always do dancing at various bars etc., until our legs are killing us and we're tired as hell. It was a fun night until when it was time to go home. If ANY of you hang out in LKF until late at night, then you KNOW how much of pain in the ass it is to get a taxi home (especially back to Kowloon). All the taxi's always have those "out of service" signs, and the reason they do that is so they can choose those people who live further away so that they can get more money. How it works, is that if someone has an "out of service" sign on, it usually signifies that this guy actually is crossing the harbor to Kowloon and therefore wants to choose riders who would like to go back to Kowloon. Recently, they've started selecting places in Kowloon to take guests. If someone wants to go to say Tsim Sha Tsui (which is where I live), since it's right over the harbor then it's not worth the driver's time. So instead, they say "Oh sorry - I'm on call and waiting for my passenger to come". This is ALWAYS a bullshit answer. Why would they ask you where you wanted to go if they were "on call"? Last night, after 3 taxi's rejected me because I just wanted to go to Tsim Sha Tsui, I had enough and asked the 3rd taxi who rejected me what he was waiting for waiting here. He of course said, that he was on call and waiting for his passenger. Then I had told him that I had been here for 10 mins and haven't seen any so-called "passenger" who "called" him come to his car. I then told him that him waiting here is just blocking traffic and being a total nuisance to the public. He didn't care and I decided to report him to the police. So I took a photo of his license plate, and took a photo of him. I called the police and reported him and the police said they were on their way. As soon as the driver found out I had called the police, he started to try to driver away. So I stood in front of his taxi keeping him from running away. The police said they were on their way and so I thought I would do my "civic duty" by helping keep this taxi driver from running away. Instead of the taxi driver waiting, he started driving his car into me!!! Into my legs!!! He kept trying to push me out of his way WITH HIS TAXI!!! A bunch of my friends were there and saw this happen and took photos and started filming this because they couldn't believe the taxi driver was doing this! So this went on for what felt like 15 mins and the police still hadn't come!!! We kept waiting and I kept blocking the driver from running away and he kept pushing into me. Finally he was able to drive off. And the police showed up 10 minutes later!!! Then I stayed there for an hour and a half getting a report written up by the police about this and I told him that I did NOT want this driver to get away after what he just did. So they kept taking my statement, and my friends, and finally 5am I was able to go and they told me that I have to call "traffic complaint" on Monday to follow up on this case.

This was my crazy Friday night. After all that happened I feel like I was robbed of my rights as a HK citizen. Not by the police, but because of this crazy taxi driver who had no fear for hurting me. HE WAS CLEARLY IN THE WRONG!!! And to make it worse by actually trying to push me out of his with his taxi?!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING!!!

I WILL follow this case up with the police on Monday. But right now I am unbelievably angry that this happened, and that for now, this taxi driver AND ALL these taxi drivers who block traffic, and "choose" their passengers, and become a nuisance to the public, has clearly gotten away with this.

APRIL 17, 2008: NEWS ON TV

OK - I haven't said anything yet about things that are going on in China. I have not said anything about my thoughts on the way the Western media portrays anything that happens in China. I haven't said anything NOT because I'm scared to say something - but because I'd rather stand in the middle and hear each other's views. Of course, most of my friends are Chinese, so they have a lot of opinions about what is going on and the hypocritical nature of western media. But still, I choose to listen to my friends thoughts and comments, and I allow MYSELF to come up with my own thoughts and ideas.

But yesterday, I saw something on BBC about a new "report" about China that really got me angry.

They are now saying that China is the biggest polluter in the world. It used to be that USA was the biggest polluter, but now with all the production that goes on in China, it is China that is becoming the biggest polluter.

So now the West is applying even more pressure on China to clean up it's air. I agree that every country must watch what they're doing with their environment and how it ALL effects each other.

What is making me angry is that the West just doesn't seem to understand what is going on in China. China is FINALLY becoming a super-power. China is FINALLY becoming a country that allows it's citizens the opportunities to own such simple things as washing machines and air-conditioners. China is FINALLY becoming a country that is becoming a global player in economics, music, arts, and hopefully one day, politics. All that is going on right now, is that the people of China are getting the great opportunity to better their lives with all the new investments that are coming into the country. All of this should be a source of happiness and pride. All of these opportunities have been available to the West for hundreds of years. The West has been polluting the environment for 200 years! It is now finally China's turn to be able to develop and provide the same opportunities that people in the West have had for hundreds years.

Of course, no one should be allowed to pollute the environment and ruin the world for our future generations. BUT everything should be done through civil means - not by blindly and constantly attacking a country and it's people. These past few weeks Western press has constantly been attacking China about what went on in Tibet, then the Olympic torch is being attacked by people even though the people who CARRY this torch are not Chinese - but people who represent their own countries!!!, and now the Western media is saying that China has become the biggest polluter. Why is it that all of these negative things about China are happening around the same time? This is a question that millions of Chinese people are asking. This is a question that is making millions and millions of Chinese people even more passionate about their country and letting the fire in their hearts burn even harder. This is why everyone's MSN name has been changed to a HEART SIGN and then the words CHINA.

This is interesting times that we're living in. It is even more important that we always keep our eyes and ears open, and it is even more important that we use our OWN energy to find out the truth about what is being reported on TV. No one can simply turn the TV on today and think that the truth is being reported there. You need to search. You need to question EVERYTHING. You cannot believe everything you see, hear or read.

We are here to announce that our next show in HK Apr 27 with Comeback Kid will be our last show until we release our new album. From May onwards we will begin the process of writing and recording our new album. Because we really want to spend time focusing on writing and recording, we won’t play any shows during this period! We are very excited for this process because the last time that King Ly Chee released an album it was 2003!

So if you have time, we hope you will come to the show on Apr 27 which features one of the biggest hardcore bands on the planet called Comeback Kid. Our brothers Shepherds the Weak, and Embryo will be playing as well and so it should be a great night of Hong Kong Hardcore pride and passion.

APRIL 13, 2008: SHOES

Yes, so if you know me...you know my love for shoes. It's actually quite ridiculous...I never used to care about these things...but all of a sudden these past couple of years I've become such a shoe-hoarder. My mom is like "What the hell? You have more shoes then ME!" It's crazy...I just got another paif over the weekend - a sick black with gold swoosh and threading pair of Nike Air Max...these are my babies right now!!! Love them...

So we're helping Comeback Kid print their shirts for their tour and I saw a sample print of a white shirt that they're printing. Looks frickin' GOOD!! But they aren't printing that many shirs so I'm pretty sure that if you want to buy it, then you have to get it right away at the show.

Okay - time to play "Recognize this Comeback Kid Song"...Here are the lyrics, see if you can tell me what the name of the song is:

APRIL 12, 2008: GREAT NIGHT...

大家好...昨天晚上可以說是一個很完美的晚上...十點鐘我跟我好朋友Terence (Shepherds the Weak的主唱) 一起去看一隊意大利來的樂隊叫Dimaggio. 在這裡看到我其中一位同事...她已經醉了一點所以跟她玩很開心! hahahahahaha...我們看這個樂隊的時候非常開心因為他們真的是一個很"牛B"的樂隊...每一個成員非常厲害!!! 然後我們的鼓手也出現了...然後我們去了一個很喜歡去的酒吧叫Cavern...在這裡我們會聽兩個樂隊玩現在最紅的pop音樂...玩到三點鐘...

是一個很完美的晚上因為可以跟我最近的朋友一起去放松...good night...good times...

Great night last night...watched the Italian band Dimaggio rip shit up at the Fringe! Great band...go check them out tonight at the Lamma Island Ferry Pier #4 if you have time!!! Won't regret it!

Then hung out with Terence, Ashley, Glenn, and Man until late as hell last night...just listening to cover songs at the cavern for hours and hours...great night...just relaxing with close friends...no bullshit...just fun...great night...

APRIL 11, 2008: ENVY DVD

Unbelievable...if you are a fan of this band or into any thing post-rock/hardcore and REAL screamo (none of that The Used shit...I'm talking about Saetia style but better)...then this band is a band that you should already know. They are legends in terms of Asian hardcore circles that's for sure. No matter where we've played on this great continent of ours, people know and love this band. They are easily one of my favorite bands...Pong loves this band with a passion. So yesterday I walked into Records Rendezvous to buy the new Anti-Flag CD and lo-and-behold, the Envy DVD "transfovista" was sitting right there!!!

Needless to say I called Pong, bought him and myself a copy, then ran home and watched the whole thing...great band...great little DVD

我其中最喜歡的樂隊是一個日本樂隊叫Envy (我們的Pong也是非常愛這個樂隊)...如果你喜歡聽真正的"screamo"風格的音樂(不是The Used那種 - 我真的不覺得他們有什麼screamo的元素!) 那你當然已經聽過了這個樂隊...我昨天去了Records Rendezvous買新Anti-Flag的唱片, 我一進去馬上看到Envy的新DVD!!! Waah...等了很久買這個DVD!!! 所以馬上買了一張給我自己然後再買一張給Pong, 馬上回家看!!! hahahahaha...

喜歡Envy的朋友們一定不會失望...

APRIL 8, 2008: IT'S SO HOT!!!

IT IS SO HOT IN HK!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...and the mosquitoes are out in full force in my room...it sucks...in the middle of the night these bastards totally have me as a target...so i'm in my bed comfortable and just want to sleep...and then out of nowhere, i hear that annoying buzzing sound, and then out of nowhere one attacks in my ear!!! IN MY EAR!?!?!? WHAT THE?!?!? there aren't any better places for you to bite me you little punks?!?!?! Then it's like comedy hour in my room when I wake up and start hunting these things down. Remember, this is like at 3am when the rest of the world is asleep. All of a sudden there's all this commotion in my room because I'm smacking the walls trying to chase these bastards around the room to kill them. I swear, once there were 4 mosquitos!!! I killed one, and then I see another one flying around!!! WHAT THE HELL!??!?! Where are YOU ALL COMING FROM!!!

Anyone...have a nice day...hehehehe...

APRIL 7, 2008: Intolerant from the Philippines

APRIL 6, 2008: Woah!!!0

Oh my god...in the next few days we are going to confirm something that is the craziest thing to happen for King Ly Chee...I know these past few weeks have been crazy news after crazy news. I don't know how any of us can be sane at all after all we've gone through, from having our singer quit all of a sudden, to then confirming Summer Slam and Comeback Kid! Could there STILL be another piece of good news about to happen? YES!!! We are still confirming it...if it happens (which is most likely - the people are already asking for our passports to process work visas), this WILL be my biggest dream come true. I cannot even stress that enough - it WILL be my biggest dream come true. Those who know me, and know my history with hardcore, can already make a guess what opportunity we are about to get. I still can't believe it's true...it really can't be true...how could it be? But it is...but I won't announce it until it is ABSOLUTELY confirmed!!! Wait a few more days...those people who have TRULY supported King Ly Chee since day one, will no doubt be extremely happy and excited for us!!!

這幾天後我們將會通知大家一個很興奮的稍息!!! 這個稍息我還不信真的會發生...真的發生的話我可以說我終於達到我其中最大的夢想!!! 我永遠沒想過會真的有這樣的機會...有些朋友們知道我跟hardcore的歷史 - 他們應該可以猜到我們將會有什麼興奮的機會﹗﹗﹗

We have just found out that the singer of Comeback Kid will be in Hong Kong on Apr 22 and can meet all of Comeback Kid's supporters in Hong Kong.

So we want to know, if we organize a CD/poster signing in Hong Kong, would you come?

If we get enough people who want to come, then we will organize a special CD/poster signing in Hong Kong for them.

The signing will take place at Records Rendezvous CD shop in Tsim Sha Tsui on Tuesday, Apr 22 between 8-9pm (Star House, Basement Floor, Tsim Sha Tsui, TEL 2716-933) (九龍尖沙咀梳士巴利道3號星光行地庫B23h鋪 TEL: 2716-9333).

It will be a FREE event and we will have free Comeback Kid posters available for you to get signed. Records Rendezvous will also have all 3 Comeback Kid albums for sale if you want to buy and have Andrew sign those too.

APRIL 2, 2008: Yeah yeah yeah...

Okay...you've all gotten too smart. Yes, yesterday was April Fool's Day and as our little tradition, I made all of that up. So, NO Brian didn't quit the band...it was a joke. He DOES own a bunch of guitars! Hahahahahaha...

I do feel bad for all the emails that I received!!! At least we know that a lot of people out there care about us!!! SORRY!!! IT WAS JUST A JOKE!!! :-)

昨天是April Fool's Day所以我昨天寫的東西全部是假的!!! :-) Brian沒有離開我們的樂隊! 我就是玩得! hahahahaha...謝謝大家的email! 我有收到很多email關於我昨天所寫的!!! 可是就是開玩笑!!! :-)

APRIL 1, 2008: WHAT?!

Man...why do I always have to share bad news with you guys? Every damn year there's another piece of bad news. I don't understand why we have such terrible luck in this band. G quit the band last month. Then last night I received an SMS from Brian. Remember that Brian only joined the band last year, so he has only played for one year. Last night, he decided that he didn't want to play in KLC anymore. He has around 5 guitars, and 2 guitar amps that he is selling. If anyone wants to buy these guitars (he has 3 LTD guitars, 1 ESP guitar, 1 Gibson SG with EMG Pickups) then please call Brian: 9343-0457. He is also selling his 3 amps: Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier, Rivera, Peavey 5150. Again, if you want to buy these amps then please call Brian 9343-0457. He said that he already has people who want to buy these, so if you want to buy these guitars or amps then please call RIGHT NOW!!! He thinks they will be gone by the end of the day.

So...now we have no singer, and we only have one guitar player. We are sorry for all the problems this band keeps causing to all the members that have joined in the past 9 years.

We will start the search for a new guitar player and singer next week...Thanks Brian for your help and support. Good luck to you in the future!

man...太興奮了!!! 我們四月一個週末裡可以有那麼多非常"牛B"和"正"的演出!!! 真的想不到...OH MY GOD!!! can't wait...can't wait...很期待!!!

MARCH 26, 2008: NYHC DOCUMENTARY DVD

我昨天收到了一個很有趣的DVD...這個DVD是關於New York Hardcore九四至九五年的時代. 有很多很大New York Hardcore樂隊的訪問和當時的觀眾. 他們有訪問Madball, Agnostic Front, Murphy's Law, 25 Ta Life, District, 等等...他們全部有說在New York生活怎麼樣. 如果你想知道new york hardcore真正的精神那一定要看這個DVD. 這個DVD是差不多九八年發出的, 這個DVD是再出的版本. 他們還有這幾年再訪問這幾個樂隊問他們這十年過了怎麼樣...really cool...

Yesterday I received my copy of the New York Hardcore DVD that came out in the late 90's. It's been re-released recently and I got it yesterday. It's an AWESOME DVD to watch about this hardcore scene. It talks specifically about the era of 94-95 around then. It interviews bands like Madball, 25 ta Life, Agnostic Front, Murphy's Law, etc. Then at the end it has an extras section where they interview these bands again 10 years later like a few years ago. All the bands talk about what they've all been through and what they're up to now. It's an awesome little DVD that talks about he life and struggles of being a band from New York.

還有...我終於收到Reflector的新唱片! 非常好聽...他們長大了!!! hahahahahaha...他們每首歌真的寫的非常好...沒有什麼punk rock的感覺, 有真音樂人的感覺! 是一個很great的rock樂隊. 如果你還沒聽過那你等什麼?! IT'S GREAT!!!

MARCH 24, 2008: AWESOME WEEKEND!

One of the best weekends of my life I'd have to say...two GREAT GREAT shows back to back always makes me feel good and rejuvenates my joy in still continuing this band! :-)

As was expected...the Guangzhou show was CRAZY AWESOME!!! The audience in GZ knew all the lyrics to all our new songs and were singing them along...it was just the way it should be...they proved once again that they indeed are with us forever and supporting us no matter what happens. They sang the lyrics better then I did! hahahahaha...

We played with great bands as always including our brothers in Uni-K - and these guys ALWAYS destroy the audience in the mosh pit when we play. You should've seen the end of Skinless - these kids know how to mosh and make Macau proud...

Okay - so now I'm back in HK and am going to start working my ass off of on the upcoming Comeback Kid show...and we have to prepare ourselves for Summer Slam in the Philippines! Lots to do!!! To all our Filipino brothers and siters: we're actually going to print our Unite Asia EP on to CD especially for this show at Summer Slam!!! And guess what? We're going to hand them out for free TO ALL OF YOU!!! So after we're done playing, come find our booth and pick up a FREE copy of the Unite Asia EP!!! CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL!!

MARCH 22, 2008: GREAT NIGHT YESTERDAY!

多謝大家!!! 昨天晚上的演出非常非常感動!!! 昨天晚上是我第一次唱所見所聞!!! 我想不到我一天可以唱全首歌!!! 昨天終於到我唱全部中文詞!!! 全部觀眾對昨天晚上全show的感覺非常好...全部人有做氣氛做的非常好!!! 謝謝你們對每一個樂隊的熱情...AMAZING! AMAZING!!!

昨天就唱三首歌...希望下次再見可以再唱多幾首歌!!! 我會很努力學我們中文歌詞!!!

WE'RE COMING BACK PHILIPPINES!!! to all our friends and supporters out there we're coming back Apr 26!! WE CANNOT WAIT TO COME BACK!!! We are so excited about this. I feel like all of this has come out of the blue because we didn't actually know that we were confirmed. But I saw the posters yesterday and our name is on the poster! We have TO TOTALLY thank our old HK brother Jun who plays drums for the amazing Kjwan!! YOU HOOKED IT BROTHA!! WE OWE YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! I don't think we could ever pay you back enough for doing this for your old pals...

See you all in the Philippines soon!! Cannot believe we're finally going back!!! Woohoo!!! Our brothers in Shepherds the Weak have been trying to get us back, but the timing was never right because they go during mid-summer when there are just no holidays in HK. So this Summer Slam is actually a Saturday show and guess how we're doing it...because we have to work the Friday before and the Monday after, we're flying out Saturday morning to arrive in Manila Saturday afternoon. Then play the show, then fly back at 8 in the morning on Sunday in order to set up for the Comeback Kid show in HK!!! HOLY CRAP!!! NOW THAT'S DEDICATION!!! hahahahaha...

MARCH 17, 2008: GREAT WEEKEND!!!

這個週末我們跟三個好朋友排練...這三位朋友會幫我們唱幾首歌...

這個禮拜我們儘量會自己唱這幾首歌: "土炮", “所見所聞", My Family, "奮身見證"...可是我很想跟大家說...我學唱廣東話的歌詞是非常非常辛苦!!! :-( 因為我以為我廣東話不是那麼差...可是我看廣東話歌詞的時候發現了很多字我不認識! damn...然後要問我女朋友解釋才明白歌詞...還有問她每一個字的聲調...damn...然後需要記歌詞...然後要練一路彈吉他一路唱歌...DAMN!!! 非常辛苦...可是我喜歡這樣的挑戰...非常喜歡...This weekend we'll be singing a few songs on our own and will help from some close friends on other songs. I just want everyone to know - singing Cantonese lyrics for me is a total BITCH! hahahaha...it's crazy that after living in HK for so many years, there are still millions of words that I have no idea. So i have to ask my girlfriend, then she has to explain it to me, then I have to practice the tones, then I have to memorize it, then I have to practice singing these words AND playing guitar at the same time!!! IT'S CRAZY!!! I wish I had more time...but I'm already practicing on my own everyday and it's crazy...but I love these types of challenges...hopefully you guys will be patient with me this weekend!!! :-) If I had more time I'd be better...but I'll be trying the best that I can in such short notice...

MARCH 16, 2008: 廣州和深圳的朋友們現在應該看到這個網站嗎?

Sorry guys...I've been receiving emails from supporters in Guangzhou who said they haven't been able to see check out this website. It turns out, our website was blocked in Guangzhou. Don't ask me why - we don't even talk about political stuff on this site. Anyway...so I found a way to fix that. But that required getting a new server account etc...so that's why the site was down.

對不起大家...幾天前我們廣州朋友和支持者有跟我說,他們看不到我們的網站...然後我check了...然後找到辦法...現在應該看到了...

這幾天在我們學校真的好混亂因為突然政府說全部學校需要停課...現在我們全部學校兩個禮拜後才有小朋友...AHHHHH...沒有小朋友會非常無聊... :-( 我最恨是面對大人...hahahahahahaha..跟大人工作沒有趣...他們全部沒有什麼夢想...沒有什麼正面的態度...有很多壓力...sucks...

報紙也說這二十年裡可能沒有冬天...yeah right...我一定不信這個報道...怎麼可能沒有冬天! come on...give me a break...

these past couple days have been total chaos at our school because all of a sudden our school, like all HK schools, have had to tell students and families that school will be closed for them for 2 weeks as this flu-problem gets under control. but that means we still have to go to work but there won't be any kids. going to school without any kids around SUCKS!! S U C K S!!! i hate dealing with adults all day...

newspapers are also reporting that within the next 20 years, HK won't have any winters anymore. what? did they not see the winter this past year? it was the longest cold spell we've ever had! weirdos...going to bed...

What the hell!!! Yesterday I received a package in my mailbox. I don't know if you remember, but last week I talked about a legendary NYHC hardcore band called H2O. I mentioned how I wanted to order their first album but it's out of print! Then yesterday I received a package from someone named Andy from the UK. I opened it up and guess what was in there? THE H2O ALBUM THAT I WANTED!!! WHAT??!?!?!? DUDE!!! We have some of the NICEST people reading this website!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH ANDY!!! I cannot believe you got it for me and sent it out!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Please let me know if there's anything I can get for you from Hong Kong and I will send it out RIGHT AWAY!!!

上個禮拜我有說一個紐約hardcore樂隊叫H2O...我有說我很想他們第一張唱片...我上了很多網站因為我想買...可是去那兒看到這張唱片已經賣完了...是九六年出的唱片...

我昨天看到另外一個人在我的MSN list到放了我們 "所見所聞"首歌的歌詞在他的名字到..."you've got us so stand strong...you've got us stand proud"...他就像對我們說他會一直在我們身邊...我還記得寫這歌詞的時候我就想給大家多一點力量面對他們所有生活裡的問題. "you've got us..."的意思是你有我們荔枝王永遠你身邊. 現在我需要再看我們自己寫的歌詞...因為現在是你們在支持我們...謝謝你...

下個禮拜的演出我們找到了兩個朋友幫我們唱幾首歌...我也會唱前日所演的歌...可能會唱多一首特別舊的歌叫"everlast"...不知道你們有聽過沒有呢...是我們二零零零出的唱片 (We Are Who We Are 這就是我們) 的第一首歌...

Yesterday I saw someone with the lyrics to our song "Sickened Eyes" on his MSN name...it was almost as if he was trying to sing these words back to me "you've got us so stand strong...you've got us so stand proud"...letting us know that we have lots of people still with us today, just like yesterday, and these people will be here with us tomorrow. Thank you for this...

We have 2 friends who are going to help us sing next week...I'll still be singing the songs that we sang yesterday...plus I think we're going to be adding a SUPER old song to our list: I don't know if you guys have heard a song called "everlast" that was the first song on our very first album that we released in 2000 "We Are Who We Are". But we're thinking about adding this song. It just seems right to go back in time to when we were a lot simpler...

We don't know when the search for a new singer is going to begin...we don't even know where to start.

It'll figure itself out eventually I think...

MARCH 10, 2008: ANOTHER NEW BEGINNING

謝謝大家的支持...昨天晚上的熱情非常incredible...猜不到你們會這樣照顧我們...好像你們想跟我們說, 無論發生什麼事我們會繼續支持你們...謝謝...說不出來了...
Thank you everyone for the way you accepted us last night as a 4 piece...We had no idea what to expect from you guys...but you've given us the strength and the courage to keep going. Honestly, I had lost a lot of faith on whether or not we mattered to people here, but last night we now know that we actually still do. I won't forget the way you moved, sang and supported us last night. We're not going anywhere...you can REST ASSURED of that.

So now comes the announcement:

Our sister G has decided to leave the band. I'm still in shock at how this all ended.

To G: I hope you can use this time to think about what you want to do with your life and what is best for you. This is a decision you made and we have no choice but to respect your decision. I hope at least you feel that you were able to do things with us that you never dreamed you would've been able to do like tour with NOFX, play in front of 8,000 people in Jakarta, help write some of the best songs KLC has ever written, play some of the most emotional/passionate shows that KLC has ever played, the list goes on. Here are some photos that will always be at least my memory of your time with us - just my awesome little sister who stood by me through everything. I'll miss you in this band for sure. I'll never forget how I could always count on you to help me out (like when I got my wallet stolen in GZ last summer and you stayed with me to help me figure everything out...)

MARCH 7, 2008: KIDS

We had our annual "sports day" yesterday on our massive field out in Tai Tam. It was such a good time...personally, I thought it was way too chaotic, but you know what? The kids don't care - all they needed was an open space for them to run around! It was so cool to see 150 5/6 year old kids just running around, care-free having a GREAT time! They didn't care what the "rules" were that the PE teachers were trying to tell them. They didn't care what the actual "game" was that they were supposed to be playing! hahahaha...all they wanted to do was be outside and being allowed to run. Their favorite activity, of course, was when they didn't have to play any particular game, but were free to do whatever they wanted. Kids are the best...

OK - I know I've been talking about H2O a lot lately...but one more piece of news and I'll shut up. I didn't even realize that H2O was going to release a new album in May!!! They are! I have no idea what it's going to sound like...but I hope it doesn't sound like their last album "GO". That was a horrible disappointment...I hope they get back to their roots and write more melodic hardcore stuff, instead of trying to do the New Found Glory pop/punk thing...

MARCH 5, 2008: CRAZY WEATHER

What the hell? This weather is nuts...Monday was probably the most polluted ever in Hong Kong. The pollution was so bad that our children in our school were NOT allowed to go outside for playground time. Now, I don't know how many of you teach or have been around 5 year old children - but if they don't go outside, these children will go CRAZY indoors!!! They'll go so crazy because as children, they NEED to have moments where they can just go outside and play, and run, and scream to get their energy out of their system...so, needless to say, Monday was one TOUGH day to be in school! hahahahaha...Felt so bad for the kids - but it was for their own safety not to be outside breathing in the crap air.

So did any of check out that H2O link I posted up yesterday? One of hardcore's greats...great positive hardcore...

MARCH 4, 2008: ORDERED OLD STUFF

Oh I'm so excited...the other day I was DYING to hear some old hardcore CD's that really influenced me in the 90's...mainly Strife, Snapcase and H2O...and I forgot that I only have these records on vinyl!!! My record player died YEARS AND YEARS ago so I have no way of listening to these things! And to make it worse...I actually would need to import it on to my IPOD to be able to listen to it everyday like I normally do...

So I told myself...forget that...I'll just re-order all this crap online. Sucks...but that's just the way I am. Old classic music - I HAVE to have my own copies...I don't want MP3's - I need the actual CD with the lyrics, artwork and everything. Snapcase's album "progression through unlearning" was one of my all-time favorite hardcore/metal albums ever released...

H2O first album the self-titled one was my favorite H2O album for sure...songs like "roots"..."five year plan" (or whatever the name is of that song)...god those are such great H2O classics. but the bad thing is - this album is out of print...goddammit...but at least i'll know that i'm one of the badass dudes on this planet that actually have this on vinyl! hehehehe...

I'm sure most of you HK kids have no idea what I'm talking about...these past few weeks I just feel like going back to how passionate I was about hardcore and stop trying to "win" people over (more like "win" people back), I'm done. I was into hardcore way before I started King Ly Chee, and lately it has been such a bitch dealing with all the negative things that surround this band. We're going to be playing fewer shows in HK and just do what we do with the few people who are still interested in us and those of us who are still passionate about this band.

MARCH 3, 2008: DANCING!!!

Hung out with my girlfriend yesterday...it's always great hanging out with her and spending a whole day doing nothing and especially not thinking about HK shows and crap like that. All I did yesterday was download that Ipod2PC program and dump a bunch of the songs from my ipod on to hers. So I dumped a bunch of hip-hop and punk rock and she was dancing away! hahahaha...I love seeing her just letting go and going crazy...I gave her Reflector one of my favorite punk bands from China and she LOVES them... :-)

Also hung out with my good friend Mike from STW at his restaurant in Wan Chai...stop reading this and get back to work Mike! hahahahaha...Mr. Phil Anselmo lives in this dude's soul...hahahahaha...he moved in a few days ago into Mike's body and has taken over Mike's voice :-) I'm sure you have NO idea what I'm talking about...if you want to know - then you gotta go find Mike and ask him...one clue - someone sang a cover song by someone else at our last show :-)

MARCH 2, 2008: IRON MAIDEN "LIVE AFTER DEATH" DVD!!!

Oh my god!!! I don't know how many of you like Iron Maiden or even realize what an insanely influential band this was on worldwide metal...but when I was a kid, this was one of my all-time favorite metal bands. They released a live tape and video many many years ago called Live After Death which quite possibly has one of the best album covers ever! I used to watch this video EVERYDAY after school when I came home...I watched it so much that I accidentally destroyed the tape...

Anyway...last month they finally re-released this classic metal concert on DVD with SO MANY extra features!!! I just bought it Friday night and watched it twice already..."Iron Maiden's gonna get you...no matter how far!" :-)

We unfortunately have to cancel our Mar 29 show! :-( We were looking forward to playing with From This Day and of course with our brothers Shepherds the Weak. Not that anyone cares, but we still have 2 other shows in HK for the rest of this month: one next week at HITEC on March 9, and the show that we organized with Horse the Band on March 21. We have decided to be the first band to play at the Horse the Band show. So if you like us then please come early to watch us play. If you don't like us then please come around 8:15pm, we'll be done and offstage by then. :-)

FEBRUARY 29, 2008: FINALLY WE ALL GET PAID TODAY!!!

終於到了這個月底!!! 我的意思是今天終於可以收到薪水!!! hahahahahaha...我二月中到幾天真的什麼錢沒有了!!! :-( 好辛苦!!! 因為我這個月底的課是非常貴!!! 我很期待終於讀完我的stupid Master's學銜...我的人真的好累死了...已經過了差不多三年...應該還有多一年然後讀完...讀完的時候我一定開心到Pok Kai...hahahahaha...對不起 - 內地的朋友我不知道可以用什麼字形容我的感覺, 就可以用這個廣東話字"pok kai"...

FINALLY!!! END OF THE MONTH!!! MEANS WE GET PAID!!! holy shit...i've been broke for pretty much the entire month of february...mainly because my class for this month was SOOOOOOO expensive! DAMN!!! i can't wait until i'm finished with this stupid master's degree...i feel like i've been studying my entire life...i just want to finish today...NOW actually...the day it's done i'm going to go absolutely NUTS...

FEBRUARY 28, 2008: NEW HARDCORE/METAL NEWS and SHOW SATURDAY

Yo...sorry for the missing news posts...needed a few days to rethink things! But I'm back...

Last night in the bandroom Brian brought up the video of us playing at the show last weekend. It was awesome to see that we actually did an awesome job playing! Mike and Sun kicked so much ass helping us out! Then when Man got on it was just so damn comfortable...miss that bastard behind the drum kit man! This Saturday's show he'll only be able to play one song...so Mike is coming to the rescue AGAIN!!! OH MY GOD!!! We owe this guy SO MUCH!!! We are so sorry brother!!! :-(

Again, for all those of you who have been adding us on our myspace from the US - thank you so much for giving us some hope, you don't know how MUCH it means to us (especially me) these past couple days that people are actually into us. "Home is where the heart is" - these used to be words that meant the world to me. No longer is that true.

I think I can speak for the band...we can't WAIT to play in Guangzhou on March 22...

FEBRUARY 25, 2008: MARCH MADNESS...

Lots of shows in March...so if you hate us, you're going to REALLY hate us this month if you are in Hong Kong...hahahahaha...

We lost a lot of money at the show on Saturday...sucks...it was an expensive show to organize for us and we really wanted to get great stuff for everyone to enjoy. So for those of you who did come - thank you so much for coming...

Thank you to those of you who actually sang with us...like we said - we really wanted to celebrate our Unite Asia EP at that show...so it was cool to see the few of you who were actually singing along to the words to some of the songs. To those of you who actually did move around for us - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! It was a tiring day for us - Brian and I were setting things up from 8am onwards...so it was nice to see after all that hard work all day that we got to see at least a few of you singing and moving around for us at the show. At the end of the night we didn't really feel like it was much of a "release celebration" at all, but oh well...look at the picture on the left, that just sums up to us that we are still relevant to some people.

Anyway...we'll have a meeting with all of SFS family together to figure out what we're going to do for the March 21 Horse the Band show. We cannot and will not lose money again...that really hit all of us very hard at the end of the night...

We're playing a show on Saturday March 1 at the Warehouse with our good friends from Guangzhou called Chui Ball Tong...please come to support them, when we play you can sit outside if you want, up to you. But hopefully you'll come to support them...good band and SUPER nice guys...

Again - thank you so much for coming to the show...I've organized shows for 9 years now, that was the first time that we've lost money at a show, and the amount is just staggering. None of us are rich people so it's something that I'm sure all of us are thinking about...

FEBRUARY 22, 2008: ONE MORE DAY!只有多一天!!!

ONE MORE DAY!!! I don't really remember how long this show has been in planning - but we are SO EXCITED about it!!! We all know it's going to be a VERY tiring day (we are arriving at the venue at 8am tomorrow morning to set things up!!!)...but hopefully it's going to be worth it when all of YOU come to the show to show your support! We're SOOOOOO excited...

Please know that we will also be pre-selling Horse the Band show tickets!!! It'll be sold at the discounted $130HKD ticket price at this show!!! So please bring extra money! Piledriver is also bringing shirts!! So bring extra money for those!!!

終於只有多一天!!! 我忘記了我們什麼時候開始安排明天的活動! 可是好像很久了! 自己做的活動真的是非常辛苦 (我們明天早上八點鐘會到場地開始set東西!!!)...可是我覺得一定值得...看你們來支持這場演出跟別的樂隊一起唱...一定是一個很值得的活動!!

FEBRUARY 21, 2008: RAIN ON SATURDAY?! 星期六下雨!!?

CRAP! My girlfriend just told me that the weather is forecast to rain on Saturday!!! CRAP CRAP!!! We need a LOT of people to come to the show so we don't lose money!!! Damn the rain!!! I hope all of you will STILL come out to support the show even if it rains...we really need you all there!!! We also need all you people who know how to sing KLC's songs! Hehehehehehe...first time to play our entire EP, so it's a special night for us!!!

I finally was able to confirm all the opening bands for the Horse the Band show that we are organizing (again, together with our SFS family) for March 21 at Pier Pressure (the same place as our show next week)! The opening bands are now going to be: King Ly Chee, Hermetic Silence, Mensheng, Ignite the Hope!!! We're so excited that all these bands have joined us to play this show!!! Dude...Pong, Man and I got some MP3's from Hong Kong's death metal kings Hermetic Silence yesterday and THEY'RE SOOOO GOOD!!! Oh my god!!! I'm listening to it right now and I'm going crazy listening to it...such a good band with CRAZY-ASS TIGHT metal musicians!!! They'll be playing our March 21 FIVE AGAINST ONE show that features Horse the Band (from the USA), with King Ly Chee, Mensheng, Hermetic Silence, and we're confirming one more band within the next 2 days (also good friends of ours!). Will start promoting this information soon! But I can't wait to see Hermetic Silence LIVE!!!

FEBRUARY 14, 2008: VALENTINES DAY CRAP

Hehehehe...what a stupid holiday - sorry...you shouldn't have just ONE day to show your love for someone, you should be doing this on a regular basis. saying "i love you" to your loved ones should be something that we're all doing regularly and you don't need a "special" day for this. whoever invented this is an idiot - or a genius, it was probably some smart flowershop owner who came up with this "day". he/she is probably rolling in money right now for coming up with this thing...

More important news: Unfortunately, Man's hand is still not better :-( He won't be able to play the BIG show that we (together with Shepherds the Weak brothers/family) have organized. The show is February 23 and is going to be an INCREDIBLE show...if you haven't seen a Hong Kong show, then this one to watch for sure! Anyway, Man can't play because his hand hasn't gotten better yet. But we've got friends (again) who are helping me out. Mike from Shepherds the Weak once again has come to save our lives. He'll be playing 4 songs: unite asia, skinless, queen's pier, To Pao...then we have a very special friend who has stepped up to help us play 4 more songs!!! One of our favorite metal bands in Hong Kong called Hermetic Silence's drummer Sun has volunteered to learn 4 songs in just 2 weeks!!! So last night we jammed on: Fen Sen Gin Jing, Work, Promise, and My Family with him! Mr. Death Metal playing some hardcore! :-) click here for more information about the show!!!

FEBRUARY 13, 2008: TIRED

Just got back from jamming with Shepherds the Weak...i'm playing guitar for them again this weekend at their show which is going to be fun! I had a great time playing for my brothers at their last show and I'm SUPER excited to play again. Of course, as annoying as my friends always are, they taught me a new song yesterday to play this Saturday! DAMN! Hehehehehe...I gotta learn this song in the next few days...

FEBRUARY 12, 2008: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIU PAK! 小白生日快樂!

One of my oldest friends in this little "bandscene"'s birthday is today! It's so funny how some of my closest friends were actually just supporters of my band, and then after awhile we just end up becoming close friends. That's just the power of music...that's when you can tell feelings or support of a band is pure and genuine support, when you end up becoming friends with each other. She still stands with us today - through THICK and thin...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SISTER!!! I owe you dinner! :-)

I don't know if you guys have been reading the news (no - not about the stupid photos. I DON'T CARE ABOUT THEM SO PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT THIS SHIT!) but in Indonesia there was a big "rock" show over the weekend and over 10 people died. I just found out yesterday that the show was not a "punk rock" band like the news keeps saying, it was actually Deicide. What the hell...that's some scary SCARY stuff...

To all our Indonesian brothers and sisters...please take care of yourselves down there...this is a total tragedy...

OH! I've just been corrected - it wasn't Decide, but an Indonesian metal band called "Beside"

DUDE - I hate living in Tsim Sha Tsui sometimes! Right now it's 8pm on the second day of Chinese New Year...guess what that means? Frickin' LOUD fireworks right outside of my window! Don't get excited...I don't actually have a view of the harbor. My view outside my window is of the building next door. Hahahaha...so it's the worst. I can't see anything, but these constant sound of explosions is driving me crazy!

ANYWAY - What I'm excited to tell you guys about today is our new VIDEOS page!!! I finally uploaded a new videos page where you'll be able to find videos of us recording the UNITE ASIA EP! I hope all of you have been celebrating the new year with your family and friends! As a non-Chinese, Chinese New Year holidays is really boring! hahahahaha...I just sit at home and watch movies or super boring TV while everyone has their family dinners etc. I watched "Superbad" yesterday. Pretty funny movie. I also watch "The Kite Runner" the other day. If you've read the book you'll think the movie sucked. I didn't like the movie at all - the book is SO MUCH better...

你們的新年過得怎麼樣? :-) 應該是很好嗎! 因為我不是一個中國人, 每一個新年我真的沒有事作! hahahaha...因為我所有的朋友會回家跟家人一起吃飯或者見面他們...所以我平時會留在家裡看電影或者電視. 非常無聊的! hahahaha...這幾天我看了: "superbad" 非常不錯的電影...很好笑得. 還有看過"The Kite Runner"...我兩年前看了這本書所以我很期待這部電影. 可是看完了我非常失望...書是比較好看很多!!! 如果你沒看過這本書那你不浪費你時間這部電影. 這電影只有一個好處 - 電影的演員全部是新人還有很多小朋友 - 我覺得全部人演的不錯! 這個故事是非常有趣所以你一開始看你一定不會覺得無聊...可是你們一定先要看書!

Lots of exciting stuff today! First of all, as you can see, Dr. Riz (that's me hehehehe) figured out finally how to type Chinese on the site!!! Thank god! Of course I couldn't have done it without Dan giving me all the proper coding etc. So now we can type Chinese on the site! YIPPEE!! :-)

Next awesome news...as you can see on the left - we've made entire ZIP files available for all of you! This will make it much easier for you to download both versions of our EP! You can thank G for this idea and our Paul in Beijing for also suggesting us to do this!

FEBRUARY 6, 2008: HK MAGAZINE ARTICLE
OK! First of all, I have to say welcome back to A LOT of you!!! I've been reading the kinglychee.com statistics these past few days and it has been CRAZY! Thank you all for stopping by and especially thanks to all of you for coming back everyday since we've released the EP!!! That's amazing that you guys keep coming back!

Okay - enough of the niceties, hehehehehe...

Yesterday I had a good meeting with a friend of ours who has some other ideas of how I can update this website. He's our good friend Dan who used to be in Departing Cross (Man's old band), and now plays in both Dysmal Prophecy and Bereavement. Anyway, he's a website genius and he's got some ideas of how to make this all easier for us. Anyway...we'll hopefully be making some more changes soon. The real cool thing about our meeting was that he was able to find ALL of the SUPER OLD kinglychee.com website pages!!! Oh my god! We lost all these files and I was so bummed about it. Then he found them for me online with a quick click of a button. So soon I will start uploading news postings, messageboard messages and photos all the way back from 2001!!! That's back when I first started this website!

Man all this stuff is so exciting...we have to welcome all our supporters from down in Malaysia! APA KHABAR!!! :-) You guys are showing some crazy support down there! Our website stats show that third most popular place that we get hits from is Malaysia! The order is: 1. Mainland China (dangran ne, women shi yi ge zhongguo de yuedui ma!), 2. Hong Kong (of course! :-), and 3. Malaysia! SO AWESOME!!!

OK - G has a great idea about packaging all the MP3's with the lyrics in one big ZIP file and posting it up here. So if you're into this idea then come back tomorrow! :-) I'll get it ready today...

FEBRUARY 5, 2008: SOUTH CHINA MORNING POST ARTICLE
Hello all! How are you liking this website so far? I know that it's missing a bunch of stuff...but it will come shortly. Hey, we also want to know what versions of the songs you're listening to!!! Also, there is no Chinese on this website right now because every time we type Chinese the website gets messed up. So until we fix that, I'm sorry that everything is going to be in English :-( But we are working on it...and hope to get it all fixed soon!!!

Anyway - here's the PDF version of the recent South China Morning Post interview that came out last week! I hope you all enjoy it...I still can't believe how BIG the interview was! It was a pretty much a FULL page! G hates the fact that the photo is so big! hehehehehe...

FEBRUARY 3, 2008: UNITE ASIA EP UP NOW!!!
Way too much good stuff to say!!! First of all, last night's show was incredible! Thank you so much for all the movement and the love you guys showed us. We couldn't have done the show without Mike from Shepherds the Weak's help, without Egas from Uni-K's help and without of course our own brother the one-arm wonder Man! :-) Friendship with these people runs deep...we're lucky to at least have SOME friends still in Hong Kong!

As you can, see our EP is up!!! So get downloading now!!! This will also be our new website...there are many things missing but our brother John is working hard to slowly update everything...We'll get all our old links back soon!!! Access to the old website will be made available too shortly...

Okay - no more talking...I'm going to stay out of the way as you guys listen, download, read, feel our EP...we'll see you at our show on Feb 23!!!
